About Us

Hi! I’m Hansa, born in Walsall, UK in the late 60’s, part of the ‘baby boomer’ generation; we had a large family, three older brothers and a younger sister. My parents were hard-working, my dad worked six days a week, and my mother was a housewife. She spent all her time looking after the household, but her favourite little pass time was in the garden; she would spend the later part of the day pottering in the garden, the enjoyment she received from sowing seeds or harvesting vegetables was a mystery to me. My father was also a keen gardener and spent as much time in the greenhouse - my sister and I would follow him around.

My parents grew various vegetables, fruits and flowers: Marigolds, hardy Fuchsias, Lupins and Rose bushes.

In our small community, our family was known for producing the best-tasting Radishes; visitors always used the alleyway into the garden to pick and eat the Radishes before coming onto the house to say hello. Our GP loved our monthly visits as it was customary; he leaves the surgery with a large bunch of Coriander and Fenugreek leaves wrapped in newspapers - who else’s parents also did this?

In 2018 we decided to move our Curry Leaf tree which was growing indoors, it had outgrown our conservatory by reaching the ceiling and spanning the width of the room. It was summer and happy outside but we didn’t bring it back indoors, unfortunately it died. This pushed me to think, wouldn’t it be nice to start again and grow one from seed?

Little did I know… I hadn’t a clue with what I was doing; I planted over two and a half thousand curry leaf plant seeds & over a two-year period all died due to root rot! EPIC FAILURE.

I realised that I cannot leave things to chance and the plants need a lot of time and attention. In 2020, I spent much time dedicated to researching.  I started the practice of organic gardening, something totally new to me, testing with lots of success and failures - with constant calls to my mother, who sadly passed. She would give me tips on watering and endless questions of ‘How many seeds are you planting’ or comment on how well the plants looked; she greatly inspired me, and I miss her Facetime calls.

My grown-up kids love their exotic fruits and this inspired me to start growing more of these too and so my business “Grow More Plants” via Instagram was born.

Our exotic product range has expanded to include Curry Leaf Plants, Papaya, Lychee, Mango, Custard Apples, Guavas, Avocados and other rare plants including Tulsi Plants (Holy Basil), Neem Plants, Plumeria/Frangipani, Ylang Ylang & Taro Plants. Watch this space!

Thanks to my husband's DIY skills, we will continue to add to our collection as our growing space increases.

As you can tell, I have made this a family affair, and no one gets away from helping me; I’m the bane in their lives. We are based in Edgware, Middlesex. If you require any information or plant care instructions, we are happy to help!
